Temperature is one of the major factors that are involved in inducing the flowers of Christmas cactus. This plant will tolerate daytime temperatures of 65-75 F.55-65 F. 18-13 C. 18-13 C. During the fall when the weather is cooler, it should be exposed to cooler evenings in order to begin bud formation. Do not keep it close to the heaters, fireplaces or cold drafts. When temperatures are maintained, there is no stress and there is a promoted reliable flowering every year that does not harm the long-term health of the plant.
